In our latest Five Minute Interview, Tony Sanchez speaks to James McDonough, Business Development Manager here at Alternative Bridging Corporation.

James McDonough is Business Development Manager for Merseyside, here at Alternative Bridging Corporation, helping brokers in the area to find solutions for their clients who require bridging and term loans as well as development finance for residential and commercial purposes.

What is the best thing about being in the bridging and development finance business?

No two days are the same. I am always learning and finding solutions for my brokers is really fulfilling.

What keeps you focused?

I have always been someone who strives to do well, bettering myself each day is always my main goal.

What qualities do you look for in your employees or colleagues?

Honest, hardworking and trustworthy. I am lucky that I work in an environment with a very passionate and driven team.

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

I always try to look at the glass half full. I feel that is important, in this role, to find ways to help our clients rather than looking for ways to not.

What did you want to be as a child?

I grew up wanting to be a footballer. I think that ship has now sailed!

What will be the greatest challenge facing the bridging and development finance industry in the coming months?

The cost of living crisis is hard on everybody. In this environment, with finances stretched, it’s even more important to find the right solution for each client every time.

Who or what makes you laugh?

I love any Adam Sandler comedy!

Do you dread Monday mornings?

Monday is a chance at a new start.  I always look forward to the week ahead and what it will bring.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I am a worrier, always have been!

With whom would you most like to have dinner?

As a Liverpool fan, I would love to sit down with Jurgen Klopp and pick his brain.
